No two people sleep alike. Our sleep patterns are as unique as our fingerprints. But the funny thing is that our dreams are actually quite similar; only how we recall them when we wake up is personal.
There is a line in the movie Inception: “Let me ask you a question: You never remember the beginning of your dreams, do you? You just turn up in the middle of what’s going on.”
My work, performed by Zsuzsa Nagy-Vámosi and András Csáki with incredible sensitivity and musicality, travels along these lines. The foundation of this new composition was a duet for flute and guitar I composed 25 years ago, performed by Noémi Győri and Gábor Déri at the time. At the request of Zsuzsa Vámosi-Nagy, I dusted it off and this encounter with my former self launched a dream-like time travel in me.
